Second Beach Park has always been a gathering place, but for years its northern field sat waterlogged and unusable for much of the year. Through the vision of the Vancouver Parks Board, and with Landesign’s expertise, the space was reimagined into a vibrant, functional landscape that welcomes visitors in every season.
We reshaped the land to create a gentle rise, improved drainage to keep the field dry, and introduced pathways, play areas, and seating that encourage connection and activity. Surrounded by mature trees, lush turf, and thoughtful plantings, the park now offers a balance of recreation and natural beauty.
For Landesign, this project was about more than solving a site problem — it was about giving the community a space that feels alive, accessible, and enduring.
