Hastings Park is a landmark example of how bold vision can transform an urban space. Once a paved parking lot and service yard, this nine-acre site has been reborn as a thriving, indigenous nature park at the heart of Vancouver’s east side. Through the City’s “green” Hastings corridor initiative, we worked alongside the Vancouver Parks Board and Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg to shape a two-tiered water park, meandering pathways, and gathering spaces that invite year-round use.

For Landesign, this was more than construction — it was the creation of a living landscape that restores habitat, connects community, and reflects our passion for building spaces that endure. Today, it stands as one of our proudest achievements and a gift to the city we call home.
