Blake got his start in the construction business in the late 1970s when he began working as a labourer for Standard General building roads in Calgary. He started Landesign in 1984 installing paving stone driveways for custom residential and estate properties. He has since moved the operation to Vancouver, where Landesign has served the lower mainland, Vancouver Island, Whistler, and the interior, providing land based services to private owners, general contractors, developers, and public clients.

Moa Basto drives Landesign’s growth through a powerful blend of tech innovation and financial strategy. He leads the adoption of smart construction technologies, AI-driven planning, and sustainable design, transforming both municipal and commercial projects. With a sharp focus on financial management and long-term business planning, Moa ensures every initiative is visionary and economically sound. His ability to merge cutting-edge solutions with practical execution continues to shape Landesign’s reputation for quality, transparency, and forward-thinking leadership.

Karen has been part of the Landesign team since 2020 and currently serves as Director of Operations and Human Resources. With a background in psychology, she approaches her work with a focus on collaboration, efficiency, and building a strong, people-centered culture. Karen plays a key role in creating systems that keep projects moving smoothly while supporting the team in their growth and success. She is especially proud to contribute to the infrastructure shaping the city she grew up in, seeing each project as part of a bigger community story. Known for her thoughtful leadership and dedication to detail, she brings both professionalism and warmth to the workplace.

Nisha has been part of the Landesign team since 2019. She brings international experience and a strong background in payroll, invoicing, and financial compliance. Known for her attention to detail and organized approach, Nisha helps keep the company’s accounting processes running smoothly. She enjoys working with numbers and building positive relationships with vendors and team members. Outside the office, Nisha values time with loved ones and staying active in her community

Will holds a Master’s in Architecture and Sustainable Building Science, along with a BA in Geography, Environment and Sustainability. With a strong background in project management, they bring both technical expertise and organizational skill to every project. Will is especially passionate about contributing to sustainable infrastructure development and LEED-certified design projects, aligning closely with Landesign’s commitment to environmentally responsible landscaping.

With a construction background and formal training in estimating from BCIT, I’ve developed a strong foundation in construction practices. At Landesign, I’ve expanded my expertise into landscape estimating including softscape, hardscape, irrigation, and site furnishings sharpening my accuracy, attention to detail, and coordination skills. Outside of work, I maintain physical and mental focus through regular workouts and tennis, which support my discipline, teamwork, and leadership in professional settings.

Henry has been with Landesign up to 8 years, almost since the company’s opening. Henry was hired on as a foreman and has been apart been a passionate player throughout the years. Henry plays a key role on Landesign’s most advanced projects. He offers a great deal of experience based knowledge of the trade along side training for all employees looking to step up their skills. Not only is Henry easy to get along with, he makes it a priority to meet the needs and wishes of any customer, general contractor or consulting party involved on his job sites.

I’ve been with Landesign for 6 years and a Foreman for about 3 with prior experience before this on the ground and in machines. I am a  results-oriented leader and strive for efficiency and quality while being safe. On top of working hard and getting the job done, I try to set a good positive tone at work and it results in a great crew.
